Does stealing sneakers by stuffing them in your shirt actually work?
Cornell Brown, 30, couldn't get away with it at the Finish Line at Westroads Mall in Omaha, Neb. According to WOWT, when a store employee approached Brown about the heist, he insisted that he didn't have any stolen property on him. Instead, Brown said that he was just fat.
The employee told mall officers that he'd seen Brown stuff a pair of Air Jordans in his shirt. Sure enough, responding officers found a pair of Jordans under a car in the mall's parking lot. When they got to Brown, who was waiting at a nearby bus stop, he also had a Nike Dri Fit shirt stuffed in his left pant leg.
Brown is being charged with felony shoplifting and criminal trespass for his sneaker crime.
