The company promotes its mozzarella cheese, which can be creatively added to your dishes. The creatives have pulled off an entertaining slow motion video, which demonstrates various summer meals with mozzarella. In addition to the original cartoon, a fun tune plays in the background, making the whole commercial really palatable.

We are delighted to announce that Sweetie and Sweetie Pie found themselves a wonderful forever home together.

This Feline Friday we have a special appeal for a very special kitten who needs our help in finding her forever home.

On behalf of Feline Friends and Island Veterinary Services we are sending this appeal out to help find a special home for this super sweet special needs kitten.

This adorable six week old calico kitten was born without eyes. She was taken to Island Vet to be put down because it is not possible for her to survive outdoors. The staff at Island Vet did not have the heart to do this so we need to find her a special forever home.

Blind cats can live normal lives but must be kept strictly indoors – preferably in a quiet and tidy home without small children. She will play, know where her food bowl and litter box are and will soon be able to find her way around your home. She loves company so would do well with one or two other cats. She has been dewormed and tested negative for feline viruses. The costs of her vaccinations and spaying will be taken care of.

Please consider giving this special kitten a chance in life by taking her into your heart & home – we are confident that you will be lovingly rewarded!

Awesome kid snuck into 50 music festivals to make this super fun ...

Coachella. Glastonbury. Bonnaroo. The Grammys. You name the music festival, Marcus Haney has somehow snuck into it. He makes fake passes, pretends to be the press, jump fences and does anything he can to get in and has somehow made friends with famous bands and shot their album covers. Here’s the movie trailer for his story, No Cameras Allowed.

Noisey interviewed Haney who explained how he first started sneaking into festivals with Coachella in 2010:

It was me and my friend Adam. We had no money for gas—we met a guy called Acid Chris on Craigslist to help put gas in our car. We snuck in at about 4AM on Friday morning, dressed in all black, jumped the fence, and slept underneath the trailers and porta-potties until the festival opened at noon.

How new are Instagram ads? In a Fortune story published recently about Instagram, noting that CEO and Co-Founder Mark Systrom still personally reviews each ad the limited subset of advertisers design for the app. Instagram first allowed advertisers who already appealed to core segments of Instagram’s user base.

The feature story shed some light on newer features, such as Instagram Direct and video. In the past month, 45 million Instagram users (about 25 percent) have either sent or received a message through the app.

However, the video feature hasn’t been as successful, Fortune reports.

Grilled Chicken with Lime and Salad | cookinwithchris Blog

This one is from “a change of appetite” by Diana Henry – the best part is there are plenty of leftovers for lunch during the week.

Ingredients:

Chicken:

12 boneless chicken thighs

Zest and juice of 6 limes

1 TBSP red chili flakes

3 TBSP soy sauce

1/2 TBSP fish sauce

6 cloves garlic, minced

2 TBSP dried mint

Dressing:

2 TBSP rice vinegar

1 TBSP super fine sugar

1/2 TBSP fish sauce

Juice of 1 lime

2 tsp ginger syrup

2 TBSP peanut oil

Salad:

10 radishes, sliced thin

1/4 cabbages, sliced thin

1 carrot, shredded

1/2 c cilantro, torn

1/4 c mint, torn

2 1/2 c arugula

Cut chicken into smaller pieces. Combine marinade ingredient in a shallow bowl or zip lock bag, add chicken and marinade over night.

When ready, heat grill on high and cook chicken for 3 minutes per side, till cooked through.

Confine dressing in a small jar, shake to combine.

Toss salad ingredients together. Dress what you will eat and serve with chicken.

Serves 6.

Last week, I clued you all into Spotlight Stories, Google’s interactive short films for mobile devices. This week, a NYTimes.com article, “Text Games in a New Era of Stories,” describes another new innovation in the area of digital storytelling: interactive fiction. This week, a NYTimes.com article, “Text Games in a New Era of Stories,” describes another new innovation in the area of digital storytelling: interactive fiction.

Author Chris Suellentrop discusses a new iPad story titled, “Blood & Laurels.” Written by interactive fiction author Emily Short, the story was written using software called Versu, which was designed by Short and Richard Evans who worked on artificial intelligence of games such as Black & White and The Sims 3. Versu is an engine for telling interactive stories in which, according to Versu.com, “Every person in a Versu story is modeled with AI that gives them unique personality traits and inclinations. They remember how the player has treated them. They can become your friend, your lover, your mentor, your worst enemy.”

The iTunes purchase page for Blood & Laurels describes the story as, “the eight hundred and twenty first year of the city of Rome, a year of bad omens and unrest under a bloodthirsty Emperor.” And interestingly enough, “Blood & Laurels” is categorized under “Games” in iTunes.

Suellentrop adds, “At almost anytime in Blood & Laurels, the reader – or it is player? – can press the “Act Now” button to direct the main character to do something or press “More” to keep reading.”

He continues that “Blood & Laurels,” however, made him feel, “more like an improviser than a reader,” as the story offers a number of menu options the reader can choose for a character. The options included talking to another character, pretending nothing happened, eating and more.

In his conclusion, however, Suellentrop states that, while Short is a good writer, those who simply want to read a story should just buy a regular book. But he does add, “What Blood & Laurels offers is one of those quintessential video game moments, a first glimpse at something on the horizon,” which is something that as new platforms for digital storytelling emerge cannot be denied.

But what might be most intriguing from the NYTimes.com article is the discussion of why Short decided to write interactive fiction rather than conventional stories. She says, “I found myself frustrated that I couldn’t write multiple versions of the same scene.” Short wants the reader to have a more conversational relationship with her story.

As a storyteller, what do you think about an interactive piece of fiction? Do you ever feel the need to tell multiple versions of the same scene in a story? If so, does interactive fiction seem like a way to accomplish that?

Some Whitehall departments have doubled the number of files they shred in advance of the Freedom of Information Act coming into force, new figures uncovered by the Conservatives revealed today.

According to research by the shadow cabinet office minister, Julian Lewis, the biggest increases were at the ministry of defence, the department of trade and industry and the department of work and pensions.

In 1999-2000, 52,605 DTI files were destroyed, but by 2003-04 the number of documents shredded had shot up to 97,020. The MoD had also nearly doubled the number of files destroyed in the same period. But the sharpest rise was at work and pensions where 36,885 files were deleted last year - up from 15,524 four years ago.

The Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has also stepped up the shredding of thousands of documents.

The commercial features a man, who is playing golf. However, he is a very lousy golfer and he insists his assistant not to count “that”. Numerous times he hits and misses. The assistant rolls his eyes, but remains tacit. When the man sends a package and adds something, FedEx worker doesn’t even think to count that. Man’s reaction is priceless!
