Romney goes more negative on Obama for going negative - blog*spot

Sorry to be the one to break the news, but political advertising is not always about disseminating the truth. I'll give you a second to catch your breath. There. Sometimes political ads are about accusing your opponent of doing the very thing for which you are at least as guilty.

Thus, CNN Politics reports that the super PAC supporting Mitt Romney will now spend $1 million attacking President Obama for his campaign's attacks ads, for "going negative."

Their argument will be that President Obama is resorting to negative attacks because his record on the economy is weak, because, they say, Obama can't run on his record.

The irony here, in case you missed it, is that the Romney campaign had done nothing but attack Obama while offering no details about what Romney would do if elected, no vision, no substance. Romney has been very open about his unwillingness to provide specifics and his reliance on nothing but attacks on the president.

You can do that sort of thing in politics because most people don't pay a lot of attention.

Still, after four years of the most personal attacks on Barack Obama from the right, it is a bit rich that Team Romney is whining that Obama's campaign is going negative.

It's all in the game.
